This historic Craftsman was blighted by a mature diseased tree in the middle of its backyard, which interrupted the flow of traffic.  We transformed a detached garage into a guesthouse with bar counter and hooked it up to a greywater system.  The existing backyard grade was quite a drop from the finished floor of the house, so we split the difference and built a raised deck with board-formed concrete planters along it to provide for some proximate greenery.
